Well Baby Checkup...

Mckenna had her 1 year well baby checkup today.  She weighs 19lbs 14oz and is 29.75" tall.  Everything looked really great for her and she is doing well.  She then had to have 7 shots!  1 shot was her flu shot booster but the rest were regular shots.  It was brutal!  Its horrible having to hold down your baby while they poke her to death.  It was very sad.  But good news is she is happy and healthy!!!

A Year in a Red Chair

I thought it would be fun to look back at Mckenna's growth in the red chair.  I wish that I would have taken a picture of her in it when we brought her home from  the hospital.  Luckily when she was 1 month old I took a pic of her in it.  Its so fun to look at and I can't believe how she has grown in the last year!

~Mckenna is One!!~

On Saturday Mckenna turned one years old!  Seriously...where did the time go?  It seems like yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital.  She is just a joy in our home.  Her little personality is developing so cute.  She has such a sweet little temperament and is for the most part quiet....(although she has started this new little squeal and its sooo LOUD!).  She has truly been a blessing to us and I am so happy she is my daughter.  Here are some new accomplishments for the month:
*Loves to eat and pretty much everything I give her!
*Waves goodbye
*Is for the most part walking.  She started about a week ago and is getting all over the place!
*Loves baby dolls/stuffed animals and will hug them and pat there back
By the way this red chair thing is getting ridiculous!  I cannot keep her in the chair and if she stays she is pulling down my sign.....

 Here we are singing happy birthday to her.  She loved the big cake.  She actually got her hands on it a couple of times.  If we didn't need to feed it to everyone she would have completely destroyed it!

 She loved her smash cake!  She dug her fingers in and even picked up the plate.  When the cake fell off onto her face it didn't even phase her.  She just grabbed a chunk and started eating it!

 Ty and I made the cake.  I think it turned out pretty dang cute!

Mckenna's 1st steps!!

On Saturday Mckenna started walking more on her own!  She is still a little steady and unsure, but she is getting better at it.  Its fun to watch her learn such an important skill....but sad at the same time.

Mckenna's 1st Thanksgiving

I tried to get a good picture of Mckenna on her 1st Thanksgiving and this is what I got!  She loved the sweet potatoes the best!  She is beginning to take a few steps on her own, but is still a little unsteady and unsure.

This morning Macie stuck this beanie on Mckenna and she wore it a good hour!

2 Years In Heaven

2 years ago today I gave birth to a precious sweet baby boy.  I can't believe its already been 2 whole years.  Today the wound has felt just as fresh as when he first left us.  Per tradition we all wrote him a note and attached them to five balloons.  Then we sent them off to him in Heaven.
I am so thankful to be the mommy of this little boy.  He has forever changed who I am.  He has forever changed my perspective on earth life and eternal life.  I love how excited the kids got when they remembered it was his angelversary and we were going to send him balloons.  This year I am also thankful that my little "rainbow" baby is here with me.  She has saved me.  She must really really miss him because her balloon was ahead of all of ours!
My sweet angel....mommy misses you so so much.  I love you forever and think of you every day.

Opportunity for learning and growth.....

A few weeks ago I was put in as the 2nd Counselor in the Primary presidency!  I was surprised and a tad bit (ok alot!) overwhelmed!!!  This is a bit out of my comfort zone.  But yesterday I got my first sharing time out of the way so I feel a bit more confident.  Now if I can get over some other hurdles: conducting, Christmas eve program, and Great to be 8 program worked out...I will feel alot better!!
I am truly grateful for this new calling and the opportunities its giving me for learning and growth!
